Artist Alley Score:
3/10
Even though this convention is on the larger side, it is disappointing if you want a booth in Artist Alley. Despite paying a whopping $300 for a normal inline table, for the past 5 years, artists have been placed in the center of all the exhibitors and because of that, will find sales to be...lacking. One artist did mention that if you can afford an exhibitor booth, you'll find yourself with better luck selling but let's be real, not everyone has pockets that deep (or enough content!) starting out. You're better off being an attendee at this one!
General Attendee Score:
9/10
This con has fun activities, a great lineup of celebrity guests, and plenty of vendors. I gave this one a 9/10 only because I got too many questions about the confusing layout from cosplayers passing my booth. Other than that, seems fun and worth the entry ticket!

Calvinnyecomics- I was very successful at selling, but Yea I was on low morale with everyone else.
Totally agree with the above assessment. This was my first time at atlcc and I wish I had known what I was getting into. Giving it 2 stars because I did meet a lot of cool artists and cosplayers, and those connections made it more worth it to me. However, the cost for an artist alley table is just not worth it for the crowd size and layout issues. It seems the vendor hall is over saturated for the size of the con, and most attendees don’t seem to be there for the artist alley anyway. I wouldn’t vend here again, but I would go again as an attendee to cosplay, network, and see panels.
Totally agree with your review! Giving this con 3 stars bc I'm local and there wasn't as large an investment as it was for other who traveled. Wouldn't recommend for anyone who is traveling, but if you're local and don't have anything else to do it's ok, not great. I did make a profit (though not as much as expected) and I'll probably give it another shot but there is a lot of improvements that could be made to the layout, organization, and marketing.
My partner did this con in 2019 and we did it against this year. According to her, they had the same layout issues as back then so they really haven't updated anything aside from adding far too many tables for the what had to be less than 10k in attendance. It was incredibly discouraging especially when other artists and vendors shared how they paid wildly different prices for their tables. No transparency, false advertising, and just not worth the time investment.
You can really tell that this con would be very fun to attend but I totally agree that as a vendor it didn't feel worth the $300 being asked of you when you're struggling the entire convention just to make back your booth it seems like especially for people traveling out of state for this convention it's 100% not worth it. I feel like this con has so much potential but the attendees just don't seem like they're interested in the artist alley they're just there to see their favorite celebs. On top of that I had so many people come up to me and say they have been looking for my table but kept getting lost and missing it until they accidentally stumbled upon it again. So overall it was a really poor experience as a vendor but the few things that I did do that was not vendor related were very fun and I enjoyed it for that aspect and nothing else.
Totally agree with your review! I had a few friends with 10x10 booths and even they didn't say their sales were very good. Another vendor I spoke with said this was his second year attending and he won't be coming back 2025. Really sad because there truly is a ton of traffic, the crowd just didn't seem like they were there to shop.
If I could give this con zero stars as a vendor I would. Artist alley was done dirty and if what other artists were saying is true, they have been doing the artists dirty since the beginning. Great place to visit as an attendee though.
